Glenunga International High School is a full uniform school. It is an important security issue that all students are clearly identified by full school uniform. The Governing Council sets the uniform and the Principal and staff are required to enforce it. The school seeks the co-operation of parents in maintaining a high standard of neatness and conformity with students? uniform, as well as in general appearance. Items must be official Glenunga International High School wear, as displayed and sold in the uniform shop.
WEARING OF UNIFORM BETWEEN SCHOOL AND HOME AND IN THE SCHOOLYARD
Glenunga is proud of its image in the community and an important part of this is the full uniform. Therefore all students will wear the full school uniform, including the school shoes, shirts, jumpers or jackets according to the season. Non-regulation jackets, shoes, and pants are not permitted. School shoes must be worn to and from school and in the school at all times, except when actively playing sport or practical P.E., where sneakers are permitted. Sneakers are only to be worn while in the gymnasium or while actually playing sport.
As a guide, items normally worn in summer (Term 1 and Term 4) are indicated with "S". Some items are suitable for both summer and winter "SW".
SPORTS UNIFORMS: Girls and Boys
Navy Glenunga International High School shorts or navy blue track pants (without large logos).
Glenunga International High School P.E. Sports polo shirt with gold trim.
The school hat or cap should be worn by students in PE outside activities. No other cap or hats are permitted.
Some sports have a specific uniform - check with Sports Co-ordinator for details.
The Glenunga blazer may only be worn with the Glenunga school shirt (long sleeves) and the school tie.
Students should wear the tie with the GIHS school shirt (long and short sleeves) with or without the jumper. The tie is not to be worn with the polo shirt. The tie is to be worn appropriately knotted at all times.
Non-school jackets are not permitted to or from or at school.
Plain white or navy blue T-shirt may be worn only under Glenunga International High School shirts of the same colour.
HAIR: Natural hair colours only to be worn.
JEWELLERY: Inconspicuous except:
(a) bracelets of a 'medic-alert' or similar type
NO nose ring, eyebrow ring, other facial or body piercing to be worn.
(b) items with religious significance for students actively involved with religion
